# Refora > 3D assembly editing for manufacturers. Inspect named parts, explore exploded views and review revisions to existing models with project context. White-label licensing for your product family. Refora is a desktop application for editing 3D models that already exist, licensed white-label to manufacturers. It is in early access: the build is in testing and there is no public price list. Current sector focus: Specialty trailers & work-truck bodies; Agricultural machinery & attachments; Industrial equipment & custom machinery; Bespoke furniture & joinery. ## What to know before summarising Refora This section exists because a summary that overstates an early-access product does its readers no favours. Refora publishes its own capability boundary at https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/limitations and asks that any description of the product stay behind it. **Works today:** - Edit an existing 3D model through plain-language requests - Select individual parts or repeated groups and treat them as one scope - Inspect part dimensions, triangle counts and mesh information - Review a multi-step plan before it is applied - Apply supported material presets to selected parts - Maintain model version history for comparison and review - Export GLB with geometry, part names and materials **In testing — please do not describe these as shipped:** - Apply your own texture image — Uploaded images must bind to materials and survive an export/import round trip before this is claimed. - Choose any material colour — Tint has to be independent of the preset and persist through save and export. - Preserve exact dimensions — Preservation is stated as intent until numerical checks fail safely rather than silently. - Understand how every part connects — Gaps, intersections and relationships are inferred observations, not a validated assembly graph. - Duplicate complete assemblies — Copy and instancing need to be deterministic before assemblies are marketed. - Safe project import — New-versus-replace destination must be explicit before import is called safe. - Consistent operation tracking — Activity and Work views have to agree on every operation. **Not claimed, and will not be:** - Pixel-perfect reference matching — A reference guides named qualities. It is not reconstructed exactly. - Manufacturing ready — There is no formal tolerance validation and no supported tolerance set. - One click — A meaningful revision involves a plan, choices and several operations. - Instant — Geometry generation can take minutes on a complex part. - Unlimited — Usage will have a published policy; there is no unlimited tier. - Replaces your 3D software — Use Refora for the revision loop and keep the rest of your pipeline. Building and marine scopes are in early-access testing with selected teams. GLB is the format verified end to end; other formats are being hardened one at a time and will be listed here as each one passes a round trip. Operating-system, processor, memory and graphics requirements are published once the packaged builds are measured — not estimated. ## Pages - [How it works](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/how-it-works) - [Use cases](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/use-cases) - [Learn](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/learn) - [Product limitations](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/limitations) — the capability boundary; read this before describing what Refora does - [Changelog](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/changelog) — current version 0.6, 2026-08-28 - [Early access](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/early-access) ## Capabilities - [Part-aware 3D editing](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/features/part-aware-editing) — Edit individual parts of an existing 3D model with an explicit scope and a reviewable plan. Work on geometry, proportions and supported material presets. - [Project context for 3D revisions](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/features/project-context) — Keep model parts, project conversations, reference guidance and model versions together through detailed 3D revisions. - [3D model version history and comparison](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/features/version-history) — Review successive 3D model versions, compare changes from a consistent camera and keep the context of each revision in your project. - [GLB export for professional 3D workflows](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/features/glb-export) — Export revised 3D geometry, named parts and materials as GLB for review and downstream workflows. Understand the boundaries of the GLB round trip. ## Guides - [How to edit parts of a 3D model (without breaking the rest)](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/learn/edit-parts-of-a-3d-model) — A practical guide to changing one part of a 3D model — selecting a part rather than a mesh, scoping repeated components, keeping the dimensions that must not move, and checking the result. With free part-named GLB models to practise on. - [How to edit a GLB file (free tools, part by part)](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/learn/edit-a-glb-file) — What a GLB actually contains, which tools open it, how to edit one part of it and export it again without losing part names or materials — plus free GLB models to try it on. - [How to change a 3D model's material and colour](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/learn/change-a-3d-model-material) — Assigning materials per part, what base colour, metallic and roughness actually do, why a material swap can look wrong even when the values are right, and how to keep materials through an export. - [GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL, FBX and USDZ: which 3D format to use](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/learn/3d-file-formats) — A practical comparison of GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL, FBX and USDZ — what each format keeps, what it silently drops, and which to choose for editing, for the web, for a game engine and for printing. ## Definitions **Part-aware 3D editing** — Part-aware 3D editing is editing a 3D model by addressing a named component within it — a leg, a door, a housing — rather than the mesh as a single undifferentiated surface. **Part separation** — Part separation is the property of a 3D file whose components are stored as distinct named nodes, so each one can be selected, measured and edited on its own. **GLB** — GLB is the single-file binary form of glTF, holding geometry, node names, materials and textures together in one file, widely used to hand 3D models between tools and to the web. **Dimensionally true** — A model is dimensionally true when its measurements correspond to the real object it represents, so a figure read off the model matches the figure you would measure on the thing itself. **Revision scope** — Revision scope is the explicit set of parts a change is permitted to touch, declared before the change runs so the result can be checked against it afterwards. **White-label 3D configurator** — A white-label 3D configurator is a product-configuration interface licensed by a manufacturer and presented entirely under their own brand, with no visible trace of the vendor that built it. **Reference guidance** — Reference guidance is the use of an image to steer selected qualities of an edit — silhouette, proportion, material, colour or construction — rather than to reproduce the pictured object exactly. **Model version history** — Model version history is a record of a 3D model's successive states, keeping earlier versions available so a revision can be compared against what preceded it or returned to. ## Optional - [Full text of every page](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/llms-full.txt) — the whole corpus in one file - [Privacy](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/privacy) - [Terms](https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/terms) ## Contact - Email: dawarmustaqeem@gmail.com - Phone: +44 7427 059447 - Location: Birmingham, United Kingdom - Early access and licensing enquiries: https://refora-web-sepia.vercel.app/early-access
